Open Country Press was established in 2016 by Natalie Peeterse, who runs the press along with Autumn Toennis. Books are designed by Jolene Brink. The press’ mission is to publish high quality and dynamic literary books by writers with a connection to Montana.  

Open to any poet writing in English. Please submit a chapbook of original poems, 20-30 pages. Submissions will be read blind. The final five chapbooks will be forwarded to the contest judge, Heather Cahoon. Open Country is looking for fresh, artfully constructed chapbooks. Please check out our books at opencountrypress.org before you submit. The winner will receive $500 and 10 author copies.

Please include a cover sheet with only the title of your manuscript. Please include a table of contents if applicable. Do not include your name or any acknowledgements in the body of the chapbook. Please make sure the chapbook is in 12 pt. New Times Roman font, with pages numbered at the bottom right.
